Thrilled

Thrilled
To give great pleasure; delight.

This cold and chilly fall day marks my first day as being a student teacher in Winnipeg's inner city - and I loved it! How exciting it is to do something that I'm completely passionate about! I showed up to realize that I was placed with a grade 4-5 split class. The school itself is really cool, old and "charactered", the teacher is fantastic, the kids are fun and I just felt at home.

The kids themselves seem to be more than handfuls. Their attention spans are no longer than a Tide commercial but many of them have already found a place in my heart. They come from all types of backgrounds and they demand a lot of patience and attention, but for some reason I'm eager to give them just that.

It took me a while to understand where I was supposed to be, what I was supposed to study and where my gifts were to be applied, but what a joy to have finally found it! I am looking forward to this teaching placement and so much more to the reality of one day having my own class!

Had to share the joy!

"Who put it into the heart of Martin Luther to nail those theses on the church door of Wittenberg? Who stirred and fired the soul of Savonarola? Who thrilled and electrified the soul of John Wesley? Jesus Christ is back of these all."
